MY TRIBUTE TO THE FAB FOUR
The Beatles had such a major impact on me personally that I decided to learn to play the guitar at the age of 8. I learned to play their songs from the radio and from their records and for Christmas 1965, at the age of 10, my parents got me my first electric guitar. From that point on I was playing their music on my guitar non-stop until 1970 when they broke up (I still played their music but by 1970 I had discovered other great bands and had begun to play their music as well).
Over the years I have experimented with a variety of ways to do my own recordings at home using various tape deck arrays, but in 2001 I learned how to make recordings on my PC. What I am presenting to you on this page are download links to some of the Beatles songs I have recorded using my PC. Some are better than others while some of them are not all that great either, but this is my own tribute to the greatest band in the history of Rock n Roll, to John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr! (Thanks for the music guys!) I have recorded over 50 songs by the Beatles, however I am no longer able to share any of them due to issues with my server..
Some Of My Beatles Compilation CD Artwork
This is the folding jewel case insert for a compilation I made called "Bogus Beatles Tunes." I have made several CD compilations of my Beatles songs, complete with artwork for the CD jewel cases. I did this for family and friends...the artwork started out as sort of a stint (joke) but after I got into it I felt like I should do CD cover art for all of my compilations. I will display two sets here, the first is one is "Bogus Beatles Tunes" which I made for some of my musician friends. The second one is called "Totally Beatles" and it was a 2 CD set I made for family members. Below are the "Bogus" tray panel and CD Label.
As you can see by the basic artwork design, this was sort of my "White Album." The Beatles White Album was a 2-record set...since this turned out to be a 2-CD set I was inspired to sort of mimmick the original White Album's artwork.
Since I am unable to locate the CD labels that I made for this particular project, I will use this space for commentary...heh. By the time I got around to compiling this project I had recorded enough Beatles songs to fill up two CDs, and then some. So I selected my least favorite songs to drop from the list in order to make it all fit. Although there was never any real plan for making this one, there is about 3 years worth of recording work that went into it. Over time I got a bit better at engineering the recordings, but I lost all of the raw tracks of the earliest takes and so I could not go back and remix (or alter them in any way) without totally re-doing them. As a result, some of the songs don't sound as good as they could if I did them today.

I feel as though I have been a fan of the Beatles my entire life and I do not see myself changing. Although many of their songs, particularly the older ones, do not have the same musical complexities that many songs which came later have, they are all straight forward and pure and many thousands of aspiring musicians have learned their craft thanks to John, Paul, George, and Ringo! They are, and will forever be, my musical heros!

I am very active on myspace and youtube and if you'd care to see/hear me play a few classic Beatles tunes in my video clips, follow these links:

Liverpool Celebrations In 2007!

Liverpool celebrates it's 800th birthday with many celebrations planned!

The Cavern Club celebrates it's 50th anniversary on January 16th!

(With a series of important events scheduled throughout the year!)

And The Hard Days Night Hotel finally opens in October!

(Which will provide 90 jobs in the City. Interviews will be held in early summer and on line bookings will also be possible in the very near future. This is seen as the most significant addition to the Beatles industry for over 20 years!)

2007 promises to be a very big year for Liverpool! This will surely be a big year for Beatles fans!

If you click on the image at left you will go to a site I created featuring my latest work called Composite Wings (no, I was not influenced by the name of Paul's band WINGS...I earn my living as a commercial helicopter pilot). Click the image at right to visit Larry's Guitars Page where you can see pictures of several of the guitars which I have owned over the years, and some that I still own and use to make my recordings with!
